20 Exhibitions in Vienna’s Leading Contemporary Art Galleries
Opening at all participating galleries:
Thu, 10.9.2015, 6-9 p.m.
Duration 11 Sep – 17 Oct 2015

curated by_vienna was initiated by departure, the Creative Unit of the Vienna Business Agency, in 2009 to support systematic cooperation between Viennese contemporary art galleries and international curators. Reflections on the intersections between art and capital provide the impetus for curated by_vienna 2015. Philosopher Armen Avanessian’s epynomous essay “Tomorrow Today” addresses artistic strategies for a postcapitalist era. Avanessian explores future (and existing) alternative models of art and economy. Twenty international curators have embarked upon this experiment and are presenting exhibitions on the topic in 20 selected Viennese galleries.
